Family run site for over 30 years and the family are brilliant and very accommodating (Excuse the pun).Less than 5 minute walk to Loch Lomond, set amongst some brilliant scenery.
Great place to camp. We camped with a tent. All facilities included, showers, laundry and a little shop. Would recommend to anyone staying in Scotland.
Great place. We arrived late but they still helped us get in and set up. Nice spot for a van size camper right near the facilities. Not too crowded. Spots for vans, campers, caravans, and RVs. Even a grass area for tents. We enjoyed the foot path down to Loch Lomond. The showers were a bit small and needed some attention, but water temp and pressure were fine. Worth the stop, especially for the price.
This campground is a mixed bag.On the one side there is the friendly staff and the good location. On the other side there are the old and reaaaly dirty facilities (men und women) and the small pitches.Shower sandals highly recommended. Most of our group decided not to shower at all...
This review is 100% true and honest. I dont normally leave reviews but after reading some of the comments left by people I feel I have too. First off, I fully respect everyones right to air their views based on their personal experiences. We arrived (unbooked) at the site and reception was closed. So I made my way to the owners house (on site) unannounced. I felt slightly apprehensive ringing the bell. When the owner chap answered the door he could not have been nicer. Put me right at ease. Briefly went over the site details and told me to pick a pitch and go to reception later on and sort out payment etc with his wife. At reception later I can honestly say I found the other owner (chaps wife) very warm and welcoming and had a good conversation with her for a few minutes. As far as campsite facilities go I could not fault them in any way. Everything you need available and easily accessed. There is no doubt the toilet blocks have been there for a good number of years and could seem slightly dated to most people. But they are certainly not dirty in my experience. Some people should possibly take the time to think about what they are writing in their review as this is peoples livelihoods they are commenting on. Just because something is dated doesnt make it dirty or not fit for purpose. To go to the lengths of giving any family run business a rating of 1 star online, and then to go on to advise other people not to go to it is just bang out of order & totally unnecessary. Air your personal views - yes, but to then go on and advise people to keep away? How dare you. So disrespectful and low. So, did I enjoy my stay? YES. Would I stay here again? YES. Definitely not a site to avoid (in my opinion).
