I got my hair braided there this week but I won't be back.PROS - Best thing about this place is that they have a light hand. They don't braid so tight that you can't lay down for a week.- The woman that manages the shop is very nice but unfortunately she didn't do my hair.- They post a wifi password for you to use.- The shop is located right on Richmond Hwy and is easy to find.CONS- I had an appt for 930. There are only 3 chairs. When I arrived 2 women (the manager and one other) were already braiding other people. The woman who did my hair didn't even arrive at the shop until after 10AM.- When I made an appt and told the woman what I wanted done, she told me the cost would be $180-$200 depending on the length of my hair. I am used to paying around this amount for the style I was getting. After the late stylist had done about 5 braids she told me the cost would be $250 due to the length of my hair. AND I EVEN BROUGHT MY OWN BRAIDING HAIR WITH ME. I paid it because I was leaving for vacation the next day and didn't have time to go somewhere else. I've heard of this before but I really don't understand why the length of my hair matters. If I'm going to get long braids you are going to braid to a certain length regardless of how long my natural hair is.- She didn't tie off all my braids. When I got home and looked closely through the braids the next day, at least 20 of my braids were not tied (human hair micro braids). At least another 10 of them were loosely braided all the way to the ends so I had to unbraid them halfway and tie them myself.- When I would tell her different things along the way about what I wanted done ( or not done) she kept saying "I know what I'm doing" but she didn't do what I said.- I told her THREE TIMES i wanted my hair braided to the back not to the sides. She kept telling me it will be to the back as she kept braiding my hair to the side. Then, she pulled the braids to the back and said "See, I told you they can go to the back" --- not what I meant. Braiding to the sides and then pulling your hair to the back after are 2 completely different things.- It took almost 10 hours for her to braid my hair. For this price, there should have been 2 people doing it and the time could have been cut in half. For $250 I need to love my hair and shouldn't have had to touch up or correct anything. This might be a good place to go if you are getting basic styles with synthetic hair AND if the manager or young girl works on you. Otherwise, this place is a no go.
I love this shop! Adia is the best braider I've ever had. I used to live a few miles away but recently moved a little ways away. I still go back to her. She's kind, polite, and professional and braids very well.
Adeola is very professional and always accommodating.Had crochet braids done and was very satisfied with the install and cut.
