Always loved the food and the atmosphere. They are under new management and have they have changed the menu completely. I miss the duck egg rolls with plum sauce and the lamb lollipops in their appetizer menu.
This place was once a really great place to eat great food. They have recently been consumed by the "Alexandria Restaurant Group". Which is absolutely fine, except they changed the entire menu and it's pretty much the same as all the other restaurants in the area, nothing special. I have been coming to this place for over 10 years and truly love one dish, the Chicken Louisiana. I always get it...... They won't even make it special order, I tried and asked, they said no, I'm sorry our menu has changed, and the dish we have been serving for 30+ years is no longer available. BS... You are better than that Joe Theismann's!!! Bring back the Chicken Louisiana!!!
Great food and great service. Joe Theismann sold the restaurant around the summer of 2018. I definitely love the new changes. Improved menu, improved atmosphere, improved vibe. Very cozy yet classy without overdoing it.
To say that this is the worst American dinner is to say nothing. We went there only because people from Palette 22 bought it out in hope to revive the place. Well, here is what we've witnessed:Service: Oblivious servers, rude hostessAmbiance: Twitching table lights, but wonderful Christmas decorations all aroundFood: No vegetarian options at all!Do not be fooled by the description of their Salmon served with Asparagus and Rice. They actually do serve Salmon with white unflavored plain rice and similarly flavorless thick asparagus. Eggs Benedict - the poorest eggs ever, served on a piece of toasted muffin and their hash browns comes with onions! Please note, that nowhere on the menu they advise that their hash browns come with onions. So when I asked to make for me hash browns without - they were not able to do so and instead brought me mashed potato. So I had 2 eggs on 2 toasted pieces of muffin with mashed potato for brunch.Another item that we've tried were pancakes, which were OK comparing to everything else. But to be honest - that rice with salmon really scarred all of us. It was the worst meal in years.
Yesterday was my first time experiencing this great place. Derrick, the bartender made me feel very welcome and did wonderful at recommending both food and drinks for me. Matt, the manager, was very accommodating with making sure the televisions were playing what his patrons wanted. I've scheduled another day back already. Laid back atmosphere, pricey, great food and drinks.
